  • Larry Flynn (April 10, 1930 - September 14, 2007) was a NASCAR driver from Holly Hill, FL. He competed in eight Sprint Cup Series events in his career, earning one top-ten. Flynn's debut came in 1955, when he competed at Darlington. It was certainly quite a way for Flynn to come onto the circuit, not only qualifying for the tough Southern 500, but racing amazingly well in it. Starting 30th in the field of sixty-nine, Flynn completed all but seven laps to finish a startling 5th.

Flynn, though, never ran that well the rest of his career, which continued with a pair of starts in 1956. He was poised for a top-ten run in his season opener at Myrtle Beach, but overheating woes left him 11th. He also couldn't find more success at Darlington, crashing to 44th one year after his success. Flynn did not return to the circuit until 1959, when he competed in a series-high four races that year. However, Flynn again found more troubles. After finishing a respectable 24th in the July race at Daytona, Flynn failed to finish a single race after that. He crashed to 24th at Myrtle Beach, broke a spindle to finish 26th at Charlotte, and broke a rear end to finish 49th at Darlington. Flynn's final career race came in 1961, when he competed in the spring race at Darlington. Flynn again finally found some success at the tough track, falling a number of laps down but running at the finish to collect a 19th place finish.
