  • Papier-mâché was a type of building material. In the 23rd century, Count Dressler constructed a nearly life-sized recreation of the planet Earth using papier-mâché. In 2266, he began using a laser to destroy papier-mâché landmarks on the false Earth, which caused the destruction of the corresponding landmarks on the real Earth. The USS Enterprise crew observed the destruction of some of the false landmarks, which included the Eiffel Tower, the Colosseum, the Great Sphinx, and the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
