His parents are nervous, but the metallic behemoth proves himself useful when blowing leaves and scaring away crows and burglars.

* Ricky Ricotta's Mighty Robot vs. the Naughty Night Crawlers from Neptune (in Development Hell) The first three books were originally published as Ricky Ricotta's Giant Robot. Dav Pilkey stopped using the word Giant in the year 2002 after many young fans pointed out that the Robot really isn't a giant. He's just 12 times taller than a mouse, so he's really only about two-and-a-half feet tall. Many young readers suggested the adjective "Mighty" instead, so after careful consideration, Pilkey changed the title on all the books. Description copied and pasted from The Other Wiki.

As the Robot takes the class for a flying ride, Dr. Stinky, vowing revenge, uses a magic potion to turn the class's pet lizard into a giant monster and sends him to destroy Ricky and the Robot. The monster attacks, but after a fierce battle, the Robot defeats the monster, who shrinks back down into a lizard. Enraged, Dr. Stinky pulls out a blaster and aims a rocket at the Robot. Ricky pounces on Dr. Stinky as he fires the missile. The Robot chases the rocket and it lands on Dr. Stinky's cave, blowing it up. After taking Dr. Stinky to jail, the Robot arrives home with Ricky, and our hero tells him at the end not only of this book, but every book that follows it, "That's what friends are for." Also, his allies are Lucy (Ricky's cousin) and her pets The Jurassic Jackrabbits (Waffle, Cupcake and Fudgie).
