The infiltration had actually been going on for some time, but in the month of this event, Russia started accusing the United States of America of being the one infiltrated and aimed to launch an attack against that state. In response to both countries' heightened alert (USA as high as on DEFCON 1) China also raised their alert status. Due to the huge efforts of Colonel Lionel Pendergast and the Prometheus, as well as Colonel Chekov at Stargate Command, the threat was eliminated. The Trust agent on the Russian side was stopped and presumably detained by Russian President Mikhailov, who was convinced of the truth by Brigadier General Jack O'Neill, Lt. Colonel Samantha Carter and Chekov, who used his contacts to allow them to be able to talk to the President when he wasn't taking anyone's calls. The Trust Al'kesh made an attempt to destroy the Prometheus but was no match for the more powerful battlecrusier and was destroyed by it with former Vice President Robert Kinsey presumably on board.
