It is one of Houses of the Underdark drow city of Menzoberranzan which first appeared in Homeland. It was Tenth House of Menzoberranzan at the start of the series. It was the house of the famous drow Drizzt Do'Urden. "Do" means "walkers in", and "Urden" means "the darkness". Thus "Do'Urden" means "walkers in the darkness".
- House Do'Urden, also known by its ancient and formal name, Daermon N'a'shezbaernon, was a drow house of Menzoberranzan. Upon its destruction in 1339 DR, it was the eighth house. The house was reformed as the eighth house in 1484 DR by Matron Mother Quenthel Baenre.

At this point, the credibility of House Do'Urden crumbled and during the coming years, they grow weaker and weaker. Drizzt leaves his House, and escapes into the Underdark, while matron Malice fails her Zin-carla. House Baenre attacks House Do'Urden, killing all (except for Malice, Vierna and Dinnin. Briza kills Malice, and the siblings join Bregan D'aerthe to survive). This is essentially the end of House Do'Urden.
