  • Heinz Ball (1907-1966) was a German hockey player. He had a good shot, and was also a fast skater and skilled stickhandler. His brothers, Rudi and Gerhard Ball also played hockey at a high level. He spent most of his club career with Berliner Schlittschuhclub, but also spent part of the 1929-30 season with the London Lions, and played for EHC St. Moritz in 1933-34 and HC Diavoli Rossoneri Milano from 1934-1936. He was appointed manager for the Union Ice Rink in Johannesburg, after it opened in June 1937.

He spent most of his club career with Berliner Schlittschuhclub, but also spent part of the 1929-30 season with the London Lions, and played for EHC St. Moritz in 1933-34 and HC Diavoli Rossoneri Milano from 1934-1936. Ball moved to South Africa in 1936 and played for a South African combination team in the first international game played in Johannesburg that September against Oxford University. He was also a member of the Johannesburg Lions during the 1936-37 season. He was appointed manager for the Union Ice Rink in Johannesburg, after it opened in June 1937.
