Biography
  • Leonard Blanchard is a former NASCAR driver from Jackson, KY. He competed in two Sprint Cup Series events in his career. Blanchard debuted in 1970, when he debuted at Daytona, trying to make the Daytona 500 by starting in the qualifier event . Starting 23rd in the qualifier, Blanchard struggled in the race and fell fifteen laps down to a 26th place finish. But Blanchard still made the 500, where overheating issues in the event left him 33rd. Blanchard's final race came in 1971, when Blanchard again competed in the Daytona 500 qualifier event. Starting 23rd in the field of thirty-three, Blanchard fell four laps down but still drove to a career-best 16th place finish. Curiously, this time around Blanchard missed the Daytona 500 and never made another NASCAR race. External Links *Stats
