  • Malcom: Let’s have a good battle. Jon: You can count on it. Referee: Send out your Pokemon. Jon: A Crobat! Commentator: Jon is at a disadvantage, but we all know from the tournament, Jon likes disadvantages. Jon: Ancient Power! Malcom: Confuse Ray! Malcom: Use Hypnosis! Jon: Use your scent to snap out of confusion then dodges! Malcom: Well, that was unexpected. Dillon: That was great thinking. Jon: Solar Beam! Malcom: That won’t help, Zen Headbutt! Jon: Let it rip! Jon: Follow up with Iron Tail. Malcom: That was good. Jon: Ancient Power! Malcom: Shadow Ball! Jon: Iron Tail! Malcom: Air Slash. Malcom: Zen Headbutt! Jon: Leaf Barrage! Referee: Noctowl is unable to battle. Malcom: Good job Noctowl. Jon: Hitmonlee next. Meganium, you want to continue? Jon: Good, then use Leaf Barrage. Malcom: Dodge and then Retaliate! Referee: Meganium is unable to battle. Commentator: What a turn around. Who knew Malcom would have that trick up his sleeve. Jon: Thanks Meganium, get some rest. Jon: So I need to deal with fast reflexes. Malcom: Who’s next? Dillon: Never seen a Hitmonlee have Retaliate before. Ralph: I think Malcom wanted Jon to knock out Noctowl. Luke: What makes you say that? Nate: Ralph’s right. Malcom didn’t tell Noctowl to dodge at all. And when Retaliate is used after a Pokemon on the same team has just fallen, the power is doubled. Mary: No way. Tyler: This will be a challenge for Jon. Commentator: Jon has chosen a Flying type, a good match up against a Fighting type like Hitmonlee. Malcom: You can go first. Jon: Hidden Power! Malcom: Dodge, then Knock Off. Jon: Drill Run! Malcom: Quick reactions. Jon: Thanks, Sky Attack! Tyler: What is Hitmonlee up to? Malcom: High Jump Kick! Malcom: Now, Retaliate. Referee: Fearow is unable to battle. Commentator: Hitmonlee has now taken out Fearow. Jon: Argh. Mary: What will Jon do now? Dillon: I don’t know. Jon: Heracross, you’re next! Jon: Hitmonlee is strong Heracross. Don’t get hit with Retaliate. Heracross: Hera. Malcom: So now a Bug and Fighting type. I see. High Jump Kick! Jon: Dodge it! Malcom: Low Sweep! Jon: What? Malcom: Low Sweep lowers the speed of the Pokemon hit. Jon: Megahorn! Malcom: Heracross should have had its speed lowered. Jon: Aerial Ace! Malcom: Retaliate! Jon: Heracross! Malcom: And that’s three down. Jon: You think. Night Slash! Jon: Finish with Close Combat! Referee: Hitmonlee is unable to battle. Malcom: Great work. I didn’t think Heracross would win this round. Jon: You don’t know my Pokemon at all then. All of them have burning spirts. Jon: Crobat again. Malcom: Wing Attack! Jon: Night Slash! Malcom: Still moving well then even after that battle with Hitmonlee. Jon: You bet. Aerial Ace! Malcom: Acrobatics! Jon: Heracross! Referee: Heracross is unable to battle. Jon: You were amazing Heracross. Tyler: Heracross was doing so well. Mary: Jon is getting knocked down at every hurdle. Luke: Jon can still win this! Nate: True, but Crobat is fast. Dillon: Who is Jon’s next fastest Pokemon? Jon: Crobat is fast. So, Quilava! Malcom: Your ace so early. Jon: You left me no choice. Ready Quilava? Quilava: Lava, Quilava. Jon: Then Dig! Malcom: I saw your battle with Tyler. You used this tactic before. Cross Poison in the hole. Malcom: What? Jon: Fire Blast! Jon: Yes! Malcom: Acrobatics! Jon: Now Aerial Ace! Referee: Crobat is unable to battle. Malcom: You done well Crobat. Jon: Blastoise?! Jon: That’s Mega Blastoise! Tyler: That’s bad. Nate: It’s a good thing Jon has brought Beedrill. Luke: Yeah. Jon: Quilava return, you’ll battle again. Malcom: Mega Beedrill? My first time seeing one. Jon: Same with Blastoise. Malcom: Still. Dragon Pulse! Jon: Dodge then Venoshock! Malcom: Dodge it. Jon: Good, just what I wanted. Toxic Spikes! Malcom: Good strategy. Jon: Thanks. Malcom: Ice Beam! Malcom: Now Flash Cannon! Mary: Why isn’t Jon wanted Mega Beedrill to dodge? Jon: Good use your speed, Giga Drain! Malcom: Hydro Cannon! Referee: Both Beedrill and Blastoise are unable to battle. Jon: Thanks Beedrill. Malcom: Great work Blastoise. Malcom: So who are you sending out? Jon: Rock Polish. Malcom: You can try that. Steel Wing. Jon: Dodge! Jon: Rhyperior! Malcom: Iron Head! Jon: Rock Wrecker. Malcom: Steel Wing. Jon: Dodge! Malcom: Iron Head! Jon: Hammer Arm! Referee: Rhyperior is unable to battle. Jon: You were great Rhyperior. Jon: Who’s that? Jon’s Pokedex: Celebi, the time travel Pokemon. Celebi wanders across time as a guardian of the forest. Wherever it appears, trees and grass flourish. Jon: A legendary Pokemon. Tyler: I’ve only heard of Celebi. Luke: I’ve never seen it before. Mary: Celebi can travel through time, meaning it can sometime foresee future events. Dillon: So, Celebi can see what attacks Quilava will be using? Nate: Theoretically. Malcom: Dazzling Gleam! Jon: Flamethrower! Jon: Aerial Ace! Jon: What?! Malcom: Celebi can travel through time which allows Celebi to predict Quilava’s movements and can be useful in dodging attacks. Jon: Argh. Malcom: Psychic! Jon: Aerial Ace! Malcom: Water Pulse! Jon: Can you keep going? Malcom: I give you credit on raising a strong Quilava. But this ends here. Leaf Storm! Malcom: Now Dazzling Gleam. Malcom: What happened? Jon: Fire Blast! Malcom: Psychic! Jon: This is far from over. Malcom: Water Pulse! Jon: Flamethrower! Malcom: Dazzling Gleam! Malcom: Water Pulse! Jon: Quilava! Malcom: You have trained Quilava up well. Jon: Thanks. Malcom: I didn’t think Quilava would be able to stand them attacks. Water Pulse! Malcom: Dazzling Gleam! Jon: Dodge! Tyler: Quilava is still standing?! Malcom: Celebi, use. Jon: You don’t need to prove anything to me Quilava. We are team mates and you are a great Pokemon and one I’m glad I have met. Referee: Quilava is unable to battle, Malcom is the winner. Which means Malcom is the winner of the tournament. The crowd cheer. Jon: Hey guys. Dillon: How’s your Pokemon? Jon: Exhausted and upset about losing. But Quilava can’t leave till tomorrow due to the battle against Celebi. Malcom: I wanted to say well done. And thanks for a great battle. You have trained Quilava well and I will take a lot away from our battle. Jon: Same. Thanks for a great match. Mary: I’ve got to get going. Need to get the bus back home. Luke: Same. Ralph: I’m getting the bus too. Tyler: Will we meet again? Jon: I’m sure we will. Nate: I’m going to head back to Hoenn. You want to come Jon? Jon: I’ve got to wait till Quilava heals plus I want to travel to Tyler’s home town before coming home. Nate: I understand. Dillon: It’s been great to see you again Jon. Jon: I’ll be back in Hoenn soon. Do us proud as a member of the Pokemon Fire Squad. Vaporeon: Vaporeon! Tyler: Why do you wish to go to my home town? Jon: You’ve been to Oldale before, it’s only fair. Plus I can get a ferry from your home town to Slateport City. Tyler: Okay, then we are travelling together more. I’m going to go to bed. Jon: I didn’t win, but I done well for my first try at a competition. All my friends were with me. And I think I know where I want to travel to next. But what are Tyler’s plans? And does Quilava want to travel with me when I go to my next Region, or does Quilava want to stay with the rest of the Pokemon at the ranch. Well, I’ll find out tomorrow.
