Bruce was born in 2532 on New Legapasi, Mars, and went to public school, where he was often picked on for being short and smart. In highschool, he grew tremendously, and took part in the system grav-ball tournaments. In 2552, where he was twenty, he enlisted in the marines to help serve humanity. Less than three months out of basic, he was thrown into combat, during the second battle of Earth. During the battle, Bruce and his squad were assigned to guard Sector Six, near the town of Pawas and the former Pakistani/Afgan border, where the colossal radar dishes provided communication all across the planet and up to Luna. A large covenant force attacked them, and Bruce and his squadmate Lance O'Bryan were the only survivors of the battle. They were EVACed by Pelicans, but were thrust into combat once more in Austin. Bruce and Lance, accompanied by several other members of the military service, reinforced Delta Team during the Battle of Austin. However, they saw little combat during the battle, as an airstrike destroyed a large amount of the Covenant forces. Bruce and what remained of the defenders of Austin joined a large vehicle convoy and staged an ambush of a Covenant supply convoy heading through the area. Jacobsen's ultimate fate is unknown.
