  • Their civilization evolved with the basic premise that the Omwati were the only sapient species in the galaxy. Thus, their society was based on technological advancement that did not disrupt the natural environment in which they lived. This society was altered when Wilhuff Tarkin first discovered the planet Omwat. He left behind new forms of technology, but he hid the fact that a colony of Omwati lived on the planet Coruscant. Tarkin then kept the Omwati as his indentured laborers, using the best and brightest Omwati children for the development of super weapons. After the Battle of Endor, the New Republic eventually made contact with the Omwati, but only after the Omwati were given proof of the deaths of Tarkin and the Emperor.
  • Omwati were a sentient species whose members had a crown of feathers atop their heads, spindly fingers, and beaks which clacked during speech. Shi Shu, the second of the pirate captain Eleodie Maracavanya, was a male Omwati.
  • Although the Omwati were not a branch of Humanity, the external differences were extremely small. Omwati skin was a bluish color, and their eyes were generally blue or black. The size of an adult Omwati bordered that of a Human, although their morphology was typically slightly frailer, especially among female Omwati. There were very few Omwati with a stout physiology. Their most striking characteristic was their "hair", which appeared to be made of small, diaphanous feathers of an iridescent color. Omwati did not have any other hair.

However, Revan and his friend, Xiones, have cloned Xiones and created a force sensitve clone army, that they call the dragoons (for image, click dragoon omwati clone link above). This new force sensitve clone army serves the jedi and the republic. There are around 10,000 Dragoon Omwati clones in total.
