His best friend is Jirou Iwamoto, who he typically hangs out with since he saved him from bullying when they were younger.Ep. 45: Stubborn! Hinelar's Big Strike Back Shintarou has a major crush on Miku Imamura, but has a hard time expressing his feelings in front of her. When he and Jirou find out information that Miku doesn't want known, she agrees to go out with Shintarou to protect it believing they figured out she was MegaPink, only for the duo to become trapped within a high-tech building attacked by Nejiregia as part of their own plan. After escaping, the two reveal that the secret was they knew Miku slept during class, thus calming her of her possible panic.Ep. 6: We Did It, eh!? The Roaring Digitank Shintarou is likewise one of the worst students of the class, comparable to Kenta Date in grades and likewise threatened to fail. After his friend becomes hurt, Shintarou loses trust of his former friends and refuses to associate with the five Megaranger. However after Jirou reveals his recovery and begins to root for the classmates during their final battle with the mad doctor, Shintarou finally trusts the team once again and roots them to victory while celebrating their return after their final survival of the final showdown with Hinelar.
