Spoiler and Catwoman observe them when the nervousness of the crime bosses causes them to begin firing at each other, creating a bloodbath. While this occurs, Batman is at a public gathering as Bruce Wayne when Kobra terrorists break in. He manages to get most people to safety and enter his Batman costume, however upon stopping the terrorists he receives a cryptic message about how the terrorists knew Batman would underestimate Kobra. The issue is told predominately from the perspective of Spoiler, and much of the writing is her internal monologue.

Be sure to follow the story through the Batman titles this month, starting in DETECTIVE COMICS #797! Summary of Stephness: Spoiler monitors the location of an appointment to be made, following a plan that was stolen from Batman since his dismissal from the Bat Family. During this time, a charity event takes place in Gotham City and Bruce Wayne is with his guests at the event, but then the arrival of terrorists motivates Wayne to become Batman. A few minutes later, Batman ends the terrorist attack. Throughout the time when Batman has spent defeating the terrorists, Spoiler monitors the arrivals of gang leaders to whom the names are marked on a list she has copied from the computer to the Batcave: she sees Orpheus with his bodyguard Onyx, the Penquin with Deadshot, and the family Galante. While the gang leaders are coming, she thinks to herself and what she has done before when she was with Robin, when she herself was Robin, and everything she has heard about the situation of former Robins before Tim Drake. When Scarface arrives, she receives a strange visitor: Catwoman, who wonders what happens next. Steph ends the issue burning her War Journal, taking off her hood, and saying, "They never should have even let me in the cave, they never should have made me feel like I could do good things with my life, like I could be a hero, like I could ever actually be any kind of... ...help..." Behind the Scenes: Grayson writes a very likable, if extremely desperate Steph, and sets up a really nice arc word for her in this crossover - "help." * * * * * *
