| abstract | - Unfair claim I have to correct challenger Tony Ceoffe on his statement that Pittsburgh Councilman Patrick Dowd lacks focus on his constituents! ("Dowd Challenged in Bid for Second Term on Council," April 18) Has Mr. Ceoffe forgotten all the work that Mr. Dowd has been doing on the situation involving the shootings of officers Mayhle, Kelly and Sciullo? The meetings to properly honor these fine heroes and help the community to meet, help the families to mourn as well as honor them with the naming of the Kelly Ball Field. Let us also not forget the Council-to-Go program where Mr. Dowd meets one-on-one with all of his constituents no matter how tired from a full day of city council business. The Allegheny Valley Greenway is another project that cannot but help the Morningside and Stanton Heights neighborhoods. I realize that politics can mean undermining your opponent, but please let us not lose sight of the facts that Councilman Dowd has been a great addition to city council and to our community!
