Biography
  • Rich Burgess is a former NASCAR driver from Dover Plains, NY. He competed in eight Nationwide Series events in his career. Burgess' debut came in 1990, when he competed at Hickory. Starting 14th in the field of thirty, Burgess fell seven laps down in the race and out of contention, struggling to 24th. He fared no better in his other start that year, also finishing 24th at Rougemont due to a crash. Burgess' next five races came during the 1991 season, when he finished a career-high 52nd in points. His results during the year were largely mixed. He had some good runs, recording top-twenties with a 20th place showing at Rockingham in the spring and then following that up with a career-best 18th place run at the track in the fall. However, those two runs were balanced out by two tough DNFs, as Burgess crashed to 38th at Darlington and had engine issues in a 33rd place outing at Nazareth. Burgess' final career start in 1992 came when he returned to Rockingham. This time, though, Burgess could not record a respectable finish due to a late crash, falling out of the race and to a 25th place finish. External Links *Stats
