Synopsis
  • The month is June in a year of the distant future. Michael Denton, his wife Gloria, and Les Harding have journeyed to a barren planet in the Alpha Centauri Star system in search of Michael's brother, Steven, who vanished while exploring the planet several months ago.
  • Several "Black Widowers," alien male-spiders who can disguise themselves as humans, come to Earth to search for attractive female mates. They find a group of women and lure them back to their planet. When the men change back to their true form, giant spiders, they tell the females that they will die within moments after mating with them.
  • The Earth is in ruins after mankind has launched an atomic attack on one another. In one of the devastated towns, three survive; a father and his two daughters. As they roam through the destruction, an octopus-like alien suddenly grabs one of the daughters. The father shoots his rifle and his shot hits the monster. Other aliens come fourth and place "mento-discs" on the foreheads of the three family members. The discs are language converters and the aliens are intelligent beings. They inform the family that they have come to rescue them from nuclear poisoning, hoping to fly the family to a new world. Unfortunately, the father has just killed their pilot.
  • After using the orbiting Chronos Satellite to decimate both humanity and an invading alien force, Jacob Saturn, a woman named Sarah and a boy named Billy spend many years within Chronos, during which time, Sarah gives birth to her and Jacob's daughter. Fifteen years later, Chronos' imminent destruction causes Commander Saturn to use the satellite's heat rays to give both his daughter and Billy a new chance for life on the now empty Earth while Sarah stays with him on the doomed satellite.
  • As mankind gropes for the stars, not all of his encounters with alien races will be peaceful. Case in point: Myrg, a distant planet colonized by Earthlings, much to the dismay of the planet's native race. Two such opposing forces can only breed conflict -- and in the end, only one race will be the survivors.
  • An alien race is about to attack Earth. On board their spacecraft, they tune in to their monitor and see a human being reporting on "the expected hit this evening..." while pointing to a map of the United States. Scared, the aliens realize that their invasion is no secret to the "pink creatures." Suddenly their craft is attacked by "crystal ships" and the miniature alien spacecraft perishes in the snowstorm. Somewhere a weatherman continues his forecast.
