Years later, in 1997, Brown appeared in The Beautician and the Beast (featuring Vincent Schiavelli) and The Lost World: Jurassic Park. In 2002's The Wild Thornberrys Movie, Brown can be heard as the voice of a rhino. Fellow Star Trek alumni Earl Boen, John Kassir, Brock Peters, Ethan Phillips, Keith Szarabajka, and Alfre Woodard had voice-over roles in this film, as well. Brown then played Private Ottis Brick in the direct-to-DVD science fiction sequel Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation (with Ed Lauter and Lawrence Monoson). Star Trek is the second film he has worked on that was produced by J.J. Abrams, following the 2008 science fiction monster film Cloverfield. One of Star Trek's casting directors, Alyssa Weisberg, was the casting director on Cloverfield; as such, Brown and many of his Cloverfield co-stars – including Susse Budde, Margot Farley, Tim Griffin, Pasha Lychnikoff, and Kelvin Yu – were brought in by Weisberg and ultimately given roles on Star Trek. Brown had a small role in the 2008 thriller Lakeview Terrace (with Ron Glass and Robert Pine). Most recently, he had a supporting role in the sci-fi adventure Race to Witch Mountain, opposite Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Robert Clendenin, Ike Eisenmann, and the aforementioned John Kassir also had roles in this film.
