Synopsis

  • Guest stars abound as Dazzler takes the stage for her first major gig. In the audience are Spider-Man and members of the X-Men, Avengers and Fantastic Four. Unfortunately, the Enchantress is also watching the show. As Dazzler starts to sing, the Enchantress zaps Dazzler with an ageing spell. Dazzler begins to grow old and shrivel up, but manages to pull her energy into one last light blast. The blast, amplified by a handy disco ball, knocks the Enchantress for a loop and disrupts the aging spell. The zillions of heroes in attendance, realizing help is needed, rush to the men's room to change into costume. In one of comicdom's greatest scenes, Spider-Man can't find a stall to change in, since they're all being used by other superheroes. Now fully garbed, the heroes burst onto the scene. The Enchantress, desperate to harness the energies of the opening dimensional rift, summons hordes of Asgardian monsters to keep the good guys at bay. While the heroes are distracted, the Enchantress concentrates on the dimensional rift. A huge demon begins to emerge, ready to grant the Enchantress power beyond imagining. Dazzler, all but forgotten, sees what is happening. She absorbs all the sound in the area and transforms it into one huge light burst, which forces the demon back through the portal. The rift begins to collapse, and the Enchantress desperately tries to hold it open with her magic, but to no avail. Defeated once again, she dispels her Asgardian horde and vanishes, vowing vengeance. Looking around at the demolished night club and her missing audience , Dazzler laments her luck. Just then, one Joseph R. Ercoli climbs out from under a table where he'd been hiding. He's a music publisher, and was really getting into Dazzler's performance . Ercoli gives Dazzler Harry Osgood's business card. Osgood's a talent agent, and one of the best. Dazzler goes to meet Osgood, accompanied by a whole host of heroes. Though Osgood is reluctant to grant Dazzler an audition, the good guys intimidate him into listening. Once he hears Dazzler sing, Osgood immediately wants to sign her.
