Il est responsable du suicide de milliers de guitaristes de metal débutants, dÉgoûtés de ne jamais arriver au milliardième de son niveau. Certains ont par contre survécu a leur désespoir (la solution la plus efficace fut de jouer l'intégrale des versions live de Eruption de Van Halen, ce qui n'est pas très complexe et plutot gratifiant, et qui justifie l'achat d'un Peavey 5150) et ont lancé une série de calembours méprisants, dont le plus connu est "quand Yngwie Malmsteen joue dans un supresseur de bruit, on entends rien". Ceci est tout a fait justifiable puisque les circuits de ces effets sont calibrés pour réduire particulièrement les bruits de 60 cycles par seconde produits par les champs magnétiques des alimentations de courant. Notons que cette valeur est aussi le nombre de notes par secondes qu'Yngwienetnichou joue quand il veux humilier John Petrucci.
