  • Shoplifting refers to a technique for stealing items from a shop.
  • Shoplifting is the fortieth Simpsons short and originally aired on The Tracey Ullman Show on February 26, 1989.
  • Shoplifting is a sport that involves lifting shops out of the ground, then moving them to new locations. It causes a lot of distress to shopkeepers. Shoplifters generally start by lifting paper shops before progressing to heavier and heavier shops. Some professionals can lift supermarkets and those at the very top of the profession are able to lift hypermarkets.
  • Normally Stephen would disapprove of committing a crime, but Shoplifting is a victimless crime. It is the act of "borrowing" something(s) from a healthy, profitable store (that probably wont even know it's missing) for an extended period of time. In today's economy, shoplifting is becoming more and more prevelant as a means for parents struggling to make end's meet to stretch their dollar.
  • Shoplifting was invented by Arnold Schwarzenegger of The United States of America shortly following his win at the 1988 World's Strongest Man competition. Schwarzenegger won the competition after previous champion Grey Davis was disqualified for heroin abuse. After Davis' disqualification, Schwarzenegger challenged Svend Karlsen of Norway to a train-pulling competition with the winner taking home the Governor Cup. Schwarzenegger was able to claim victory after pulling a 145 ton locomotive 100 yards in 17 seconds.

Schwarzenegger was able to claim victory after pulling a 145 ton locomotive 100 yards in 17 seconds. Deciding that train pulls were too easy, Schwarzenegger set out to invent a more challenging event. After the big San Francisco earthquake of 1989, Schwarzenegger found himself part of the rescue effort, lifting buildings from on top of people. Schwarzenegger saved over 100 million lives in the days following the earthquake and born from that disaster was his idea for the shoplifting event.

Shoplifting should never be done for political reasons regardless of how many Mom and Pop Stores it may or may not have put out of business. And even if you do, you wont be making much of a political statement, because Walmart no longer cares if you shoplift!!
