Following losses to John McCain in the Texas, Ohio, Vermont, and Rhode Island primaries, McCain became the presumptive Republican nominee and Huckabee exited the race on March 4, 2008. Huckabee is the author of several books, an ordained Southern Baptist minister and a public speaker. He and his wife, Janet, have been married 33 years and have three grown children: John Mark, David, and Sarah. On November 13th, 2008 Huckabee would be chosen as Health and Human Services Secretary in President McCain's cabinet. Shortly after January 20th, Huckabee would be confirmed as HHS Secretary.
