| abstract | - The city was built as a maquette by a team of Industrial Light & Magic (ILM)'s model makers, that included, among others, Barbara Affonso. (Cinefex, issue 37, p. 12) ILM artists Pat Sweeney and David Carson filmed the explosions and fire scenes with this model on 16 July 1987 and were both interviewed during this shooting. These interviews are part of the TNG Season 1 DVD special feature "The Beginning". The long views of the city were close-up shots of the Farpoint Station maquette Gregory Jein constructed for the episode, filmed by ILM's Visual Effects Camera Operator Robert Hill.
