  • Walker Monroe was a gun runner, working with Holiday and 13-year-old Gordon "Crossbones" Cavis to bring in and sell cases of Belgian Browning weapons in Miami. Monroe had a girlfriend, Annette McAllister, a convicted prostitute, who was also seeing Holiday. Monroe was also very aggressive and did not hesitate to beat up Annette for the smallest of reasons. In 1987, Monroe began viciously beating Annette when Metro-Dade Detective James "Sonny" Crockett, working a stake-out in the adjoining room, intervened and demanded Monroe drop the knife he was holding to Annette's throat when Cavis pulled his gun on Crockett and was shot by the Vice cop. Monroe planned to tell the police that the Cavis was "Jeffrey McAllister", Annette's son, to get the heat off of them about who Cavis really was. Monro

Monroe brought in money from his gun sales to pay Cavis' bills in cash, which got Crockett's attention, as his checks for "Jeffrey's" medical bills were returned uncashed. Monroe (who told Crockett he was going through social workers to help his aggression) then savagely beat Annette after Crockett confronted them in an Overtown church with the truth about "Jeffrey", saying she was snitching to the cops. During the beating, Annette managed to stab Monroe in the leg before a final blow knocked her out. Monroe fled for a drop site where Vice found his gang, Walker was cornered by Crockett on top of a storage tank, but falls to his death rather than surrenders.
