| abstract | - Moss was born in Chicago, Illinois, but moved with his family to California in the 1960s. He attend grammar and high school in Eagle Rock in Los Angeles and became part-time set painter for Universal Studios while he was in college, where he sought a degree in marine biology. He ultimately left college to start his own prop company. Besides Nemesis, other films on which Moss worked as prop master include Somewhere in Time (1980, starring Christopher Plummer and Bill Erwin), Poltergeist II: The Other Side (1986), Burglar (1987, starring Whoopi Goldberg), Jaws: The Revenge (1987), Uncle Buck (1989, starring Jay Underwood and William Windom), Misery (1990, featuring Graham Jarvis), A Few Good Men (1992, featuring David Bowe and Cameron Thor), Jurassic Park (1993), Mars Attacks! (1996, featuring Michael Reilly Burke, Willie Garson and Valerie Wildman), Amistad (1997, featuring Harry Groener), Galaxy Quest (1999, featuring Wayne Pere, Robin Sachs, Heidi Swedberg, and Matt Winston), Minority Report (2002, starring Neal McDonough, Patrick Kilpatrick, and Caroline Lagerfelt, and Big Fish (2003). He was working on the sequels to Pirates of the Caribbean – 2006's Dead Man's Chest and 2007's At World's End (both featuring Lee Arenberg) – but had to withdraw from these productions due to lung cancer, which he ultimately died from at the age of 49. Regardless, his work on Dead Man's Chest allowed him to receive credit as the film's supervising property master.
