It came out in January 2014 in the US and Canada, and the following month in Europe and the rest of the world. Created by Pandemic, it was available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii, PC, and Macintosh. The game never came out for any PlayStation console for unspecified reasons, but in April that year, the demo was made downloadable on PlayStation 4. The player carries out a variety of missions during an extensive campaign, the part of the game which the creators spent the most time on. He first starts out as an Imperial Army trooper, then moving on to the specialty Imperial Army Special Missions trooper, and eventually Imperial commando. Pandemic made the game noticeably more gory than other Star Wars games, though it was not gory enough to receive a mature rating. The player took on various enemies, including the Rebel Alliance, various criminal groups, (including Black Sun, Hutt Cartel, and Zann Consortium), several traitorous Imperials, and others. As they progress, the player earns the attention of Palpatine and Darth Vader.
