The uniform team is called in for a briefing and while PC Cass Rickman tells Roz Clarke how much she hates Cork, Sergeant June Ackland reveals that earlier in the afternoon, Cork died of his injuries, and Superintendent Chandler calls Rawton to inform her. When Spears, Rawton and DC Mickey Webb amongst others go to arrest the suspect, Ferdinand, they are taken hostage by him. Spears is told to drive. During this she argues with Ferdinand, increasing the speed of the car and suddenly, she slams on the brakes causing the rapist to go flying through the window, which subsequently kills him. Spears is not tried or investigated for the incidents but is shaken. After the events of the investigation, in which she was attacked twice, Roz decides to resign, deciding she's not cut out to be in the Met. DS Peter Cork was portrayed by Tristan Gemmill.
