- In Everquest 2, cloaks serve many purposes.

- Contrary to the lore entry, Cloaks offer exactly as much protection as any other Chest Armor. However, in addition to the stats of those, they can also roll Hatred regeneration and maximum Discipline. A Cloak may be transmogrified into a normal Chest Armor, but only a Demon Hunter can do the other way.
- These cloaks do not have have set spells and cannot be levelled up until they have been tailored onto a set cloak.
- Cloaks are used to protect the living from losing their souls in the Netherworld. Anyone traveling there without a cloak, would eventually turn into a folk. Ellen is given the Cloak of Sidhe in the Prologue, which later can be transformed into six other cloaks, each with their own special properties. The downloadable content can add different appearances for the cloaks but does not alter their properties. The appearance can be changed at the 'Load Game' screen from the Costumes menu.
