  • Work in progress The Pillar of Autumn glided silently through space, its engines alight with blue fire. The Autumns hull was charred, battered, scorched, cratered, and blackened from plasma and meteor strikes. It's hull a dark grey color with red stripes here and there. " We were running dark yes?" He asked, more of a statement then a question. " Until we decelerated. No one could've missed the hole we tire in normal space."

  • Work in progress The Pillar of Autumn glided silently through space, its engines alight with blue fire. The Autumns hull was charred, battered, scorched, cratered, and blackened from plasma and meteor strikes. It's hull a dark grey color with red stripes here and there. In formation a squadron of seven Longsword interceptor fighters swooped by its port side, an escort formation. On the starboard side a squadron of brand new and experimental Broadsword fighters performed the same formation on the opposite side going the opposite way. On the bridge of the battered Halcyon class cruiser, Captain Jacob Keyes stared deeply at the tactical board in front of him. Replays of the battle of Reach played through his mind as the covenant destroyed the fleet and nearly the Autumn. He was clad in his dress white's along with the rest of the bridge crew. They hadn't had the time to change for the awards ceremony they attended for the awards ceremony they attended on Reach. "Cortana. All I need to know is did we lose them?" He spoke to what seemed like dead air. When he was actually speaking to the empty holoprojector. The projector lit up and photons swirled and coalesced into a tiny purple woman. Her computer matrix running up and down forming her body. "I think we both know the answer to that one." Keyes scratched his head weary and sleep deprived. " We made a blind jump how did they....." "Get here first" They're ships have always been faster. As for tracking us all the way from Reach, at light speed my maneuvering options were limited." Keyes finally moved from his position. He slowly began walking up and down the bridge. Glancing at view screens and read out's. He pulled out his pipe and started fiddling with it a little. Then thought better of it and put it away. " We were running dark yes?" He asked, more of a statement then a question. " Until we decelerated. No one could've missed the hole we tire in normal space." Keyes made his way over to the navigation console, the screen of Ensign Lovell. He stooped over his shoulders as the Ensign tapped in a few commands and waited for data to stream across the screen.
