Anyone can change their display picture (the one that comes up on wall posts) to whatever they want, provided it isn't explicit in some way. You want it so that profile pictures for characters cannot be uploaded, like profile pictures for a userpage. I completely and utterly disagree. What if we meet a new character? Does that mean, because their image is not already on the wiki, that they can't have a picture? It's my understanding that the proposal is about altering the image policy in order to allow users to upload new images to be used on their profiles if and only if it are images of ATLA or TLoK. Which is something I strongly oppose. Every non-free image is used on My English Wiki under the auspices of the fair use doctrine of the United States Fair use law. This means that they are used for informational/educational purposes, meant to identify the subject of an article and to illustrate something directly relevant to the text in its immediate vicinity. Given the nature of copyrighted images, Avatar Wiki tries to use them sparingly, and whenever possible on more than one single article, instead of using different pictures to illustrate the same subject. The above are the two relevant passages dealing with the usage of copyright-protected images. I took liberty to highlight the most relevant passages for why the image policy should not be changed. If people want to put images on their profile that aren't already on the wiki, they can always link to them from another site, like another wiki or photobucket, but under no circumstances should the policy be changed to allow for "profile decoration". 11:20, March 17, 2014 (UTC) I agree with LL. I guess it's not possible to teach users how to link an image on a image profile of a userspace. so far, I never seen any tutorials on Avatar Wiki. which is also same thing I was thinking about making proposal for Tutorials, but instead chose this proposal if it can't be discussed. and thank you for taking time to read about this proposal everyone.
