Synopsis
  • As the Mawzir looms over the bleeding Tommy Monaghan, a dark and swirling vortex opens up over Arkham Asylum. Deborah Tiegel and Batman rush in to save the Joker from Tommy Monaghan, unaware that the Mawzir has ambushed Tommy. The Mawzir introduces Tommy to the Arkannone, who offer him employment as their assassin. The Arkannone reveal that the Mawzir was once five Nazi soldiers who committed heinous war crimes. When the soldiers were executed by the Russians, the Arkannone offered them employment and formed them into the Mawzir. Tommy rejects the Arkannone's offer and blows the Mawzir through a wall with a grenade. Tommy, the Mawzir, Batman and Deborah Tiegel find themselves outside Killer Croc's cell, and a fight ensues between the five. Tommy runs and finds the Joker, hanging trussed up in a meeting room. Tommy puts a bullet in the Joker's chest and continues running, with Batman, Tiegel, and the Mawzir in pursuit. Batman tends to the Joker's wounds, then joins Tiegel and Tommy in their fight with the Mawzir. The Mawzir appears invincible, but Tommy reads its mind and finds that it can be killed with its own guns, so Tiegel disarms the Mawzir. Tommy grabs the gun and blows off a few of the Mawzir's limbs. The Arkannone appear and once again offer Tommy employment. He refuses and then makes the Mawzir heal his body and perform other feats, much like a genie, before the Arkannone reclaim it. Tommy leaves Arkham, with the Arkannone, Batman, Tiegel, and the Joker all promising retribution.
