Synopsis | - Norman Osborn's attempt to "adopt" Spidey has Peter curious about his real father. Elsewhere, Old Man Franzetti closes his cigar store and is dragged into the sewer by a tentacle. Peter eventually looks up his father's old friend Mike Callahan whom he finds at his bar arguing with his son Donny. who leaves soon after. A few doors down, Miguel Vargas is attacked by ink and tentacles. Big Mike tells Peter the story of Richard taking the father's punch until interrupted by a scream. Mike finds the Squid terrorizing Miguel as part of a neighborhood protection racket. Spidey joins the fight but Mike, knowing Squid is his son, hampers him. When the Squid menaces his father. Spidey intervenes, taking a punch, and asking the Squid if his father could have survived it, ending the violence and beginning an all-night conversation. Later, Aunt May tells Peter he is his father's son. Peter agrees.
