  • Rotor heads through the Forbidden Zone on his way back to Knothole when he sees two "meteorites" falling from the sky. He observes that they would have struck Robotropolis if not for the city's energy dome and decides to check the crash site. As he stumbles through the smoke he bumps into Mina Mongoose, who is looking for Sonic. Suddenly, the ground beneath them begins to shake as Sonic spins his way to the surface. Sonic starts to welcome Rotor back home when Mina angrily interjects, upset that he's acting so casually when she thought he died. He explains to her that he burrowed underground before the impact, keeping himself out of harm's way.

Inside Robotropolis, Dr. Eggman is examining the Sword of Acorns. With the threat past, he takes down the city's shields and decides to test the sword's ability to restore free will on Uncle Chuck and Muttski. With no response from Chuck, Eggman assumes the sword doesn't work and prepares to strike Chuck with it in anger. However, he decides it wouldn't be fun to attack Sonic's uncle without letting Sonic watch, throws the sword down and leaves the room in a huff. In Knothole, Elias has been informed of the Sword of Acorn's disappearance. He asks the Secret Service if it could have been stolen by simple thieves, but Geoffrey argues that the perpetrator only took the sword. Meanwhile, Sally reflects on how her family had finally been reunited just as her father became paralyzed. Nate Morgan rushes in looking for King Max, and Dr. Quack asks him to take Sally and her mother outside while the King rests. Back in the Forbidden Zone, Sonic fills Rotor in on Dr. Eggman and asks him to head back to Knothole with Mina while he retrieves the Sword of Acorns from Robotropolis. In Robotropolis, Uma Arachnis sneaks into Eggman's base and quickly steals the sword. Chuck waits for her to leave before telling Muttski that stopping her would have most likely given away the fact that they still have their free will. He supposes that it's better in her hands than Eggman's. Just then, Dr. Eggman angrily storms in, seeing that Sonic is alive and attacking Robotropolis. Eggman is shocked to see the sword has gone missing, but realizes it doesn't matter since it's useless to him. Instead, he decides to make Sonic fight more interesting opponents than his Shadowbots. In Knothole, Nate, Alicia, and Sally chat. Alicia reassures her daughter, reminding her that Elias was born for the duty of kingship, but Sally isn't so sure. Meanwhile, Mina and Rotor talk as they approach the village. Rotor asks if Mina's a new Freedom Fighter, but Mina's a bit surprised and says she's just a babysitter. Rotor starts to ask why she was with Sonic when they're greeted by Elias and Geoffrey. Deep beneath the streets of Robotropolis, Arachnis delivers the Sword of Acorns to Kodos. Back in the city of Robotropolis itself, Sonic is confronted by an army of Robians. Unable to attack the brainwashed citizens, Sonic leaves the city. On his way out, however, he notices that the "meteorites" that landed outside of Robotropolis are actually spacecrafts as their doors slowly open.
