It was a temporary airfield built by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, used by Ninth Air Force ofthe United States Army Air Forces during the Tunisian Campaign. It was used by the following medium bomber groups * 12th Bombardment Group, 3–15 April 1943, B-25 Mitchell * 340th Bombardment Group, March–April 1943, B-25 Mitchell When the Americans moved out at the end of April 1943, the airfield was dismantled and abandoned. Today the remains of the main runway is visible on aerial photography, and perhaps some taxiways.
