Within OMA there are a number of different conventions due to the overall main plot of the website. With Time Travel available the members of the website are sorted into separate eras and the times through history are known as the different Eras within the magical history and the OMA history itself. With One Minute Ago set in the futuristic Harry Potter world, the eras and the ages are very much a part of a character's development and their ability to role play. All adult characters are able to go back to their Hogwarts years, and whilst no futuristic scenarios are able to be explored, it opens up a new world to role play.
