| abstract | - Highlights for Children is an almost-amusing, fun-filled magazine usually found in the waiting rooms of pediatricians and dentists. In 2006, Highlights Magazine published its one billionth copy and turned 60 years old, surviving the advent of TV, video games, masturbation and many other things more entertaining than Highlights Magazine. In February 2011, Highlights for Children was purchased by Larry Flynt Media Inc., the publisher of Hustler Magazine. Highlights will continue its run until 2012, when it is expected to transition to a new publication entitled Headlights, a magazine with a more adult-oriented content.
