For personal use, Asher was given a Skipray Blastboat, named Ion Storm, by Jacen Wayland as a bonus for joining Wayland's Wilders. After his promotion to Jedi Knight in 6 ABY, and Lara Haddon's subsequent elevation to the rank of Jedi Master, the two began a romantic relationship, which had been building for years before Zelan felt free to express himself. His reticence came as a bit of a shock to Haddon, who had always felt that Zelan took after Master Balta, in that his emotions could strain at his control when they were felt strongly enough.
