Synopsis
  • The Three Aces help Ingrid Svenson get to New Guinea to claim a stash of pearls left to her, on top of Devil Mountain, by her dead father. Some natives oppose them, but then they see the Aces' plane, and think it is a sacred bird-god. The trio use the natives' superstition to their advantage, by using the plane's machine gun to scare them into willingly handing over the pearls.
  • The Black Pirate is adrift in the ocean, fighting off sharks with a chain. Eventually he is rescued by a passing ship and returned to land, where he meets Jeanne, a childhood friend. Jeanne is menaced by some villain that the Black Pirate recognizes...
  • Since Gargantua T. Potts joined the French Army, Tex Thomson and Bob Daley find things pretty dull, but a phone call threatening death if they mix in with the new prosecutor, Maloney, gets them set on a new investigation. Maloney deputizes them to help sniff out rackets, starting with some car thieves. One of the thieves tries to plant a bomb in Tex’s car, but the scheme is foiled by a warning from Miss X, a mysterious woman. Tex then goes undercover to the gang’s shop where the cars are taken. The gang boss realizes Tex is working with the police and has him taken prisoner. The police find him, again with the assistance of Miss X. Tex reveals the gang boss as J. Vander Wallace, a public spokesman, and rounds up the gang.
  • Pep Morgan goes hunting up north in Canada, with his friend and guide, Pierre. A snowstorm approaches and traps them, miles from the nearest trading post. Pierre takes a tumble down a steep cliff, breaking his leg. Pep sets his friend's leg and carries him through the snowy mountains until they find a cave that can be used for shelter. A bear hibernating inside attacks them, but Pep's quick shot downs the beast. A fire is built using the sticks and twigs the bear had made a nest out of. The bear's body is cut into slices of meat to cook over the fire. Pierre notes there wasn't enough to sustain them both over a long period, so Pep leaves him for now, heading out to find the trade post. A long hike through cold, unforgiving weather leaves Pep exhausted by the time he reaches the trading post. Two men inside help him warm up with a hot bowl of soup. Pep tells them about Pierre still trapped out there, so one of the men lends out his dog sled to help Pep bring Pierre back safe. Wolves surround the cave when Pep returns. He takes out his gun and fires, scaring them off. But what was the fate of Pierre? Thanks to the fire and a large branch-turned-club, Pierre was able to keep the wolves at bay. Securing his friend snugly onto the sled, Pep mushes the dogs back to the Trading Post, where Pierre can get the attention he needs to make a full recovery!
  • Clip Carson, Soldier of Fortune, runs into Marion Trent in New York City and ends up helping her get to her father's cabin in the Hudson Bay area, where the father has discovered a lode of gold. In the process, Clip blows up some attacking wolves with dynamite. After that, he is captured by Jacques Frontenac and his spies. He escapes, and rejoins the Trents' to hunt down Jacques. While running for his life, Jacques luck runs out and he ends up getting mauled by an angry wolf.
  • Professor Clarence Cobalt is denied advertising space in the Daily Planet by the editor. Cobalt is considered to be a quack doctor with a fake cure for infantile paralysis. Clark Kent and Lois Lane are sent to investigate his clinic where they meet a patient who was given sugar pills instead of real medicine. Lois goes undercover to expose the phony doctor. When Cobalt and his assistant Grafton discover the ploy, they kidnap Lois and Clark. While locked in a separate room, Clark uses his powers to escape and rescues Lois as Superman. Then he also steals a safe containing the clinic's patient records, which detail Cobalt’s illegal activities. Clark returns to the room, without the crooks knowing he escaped. They release him when they see the article Lois has written, exposing them. Worried that they have already become exposed, the doctors visit the families of their patients and retrieve the fake medicine from them. Superman contacts the families also and informs them of the scam. Angered by the doctor’s manipulation, the families try to lynch Cobalt and his assistant. Superman stops them, and gets a confession from Cobalt, bringing him to justice.
  • Zatara & Tong travel to the far north to find the Jagtooth Gold Mine that his friend Henri Jardine discovered. The magician aids and befriends Francois and Annette Devere , saving them first from illness, then from the clutches of Tony, an Eskimo who has stolen Henri’s claim. When attacked by a pack of wolves, Zatara uses his magic to turn them into balloons. He goes hunting with his new friend, but while they’re away, Tony kidnaps Annette and tries to flee by plane to return to the U.S. Zatara is wounded, but he transforms his assistant Tong into a flying armored robot. Tong is then able to rescue Annette and bring Tony to the police.
