| abstract | - The Eternal Champions were first teleported there when they were informed of their escapes from death and their destiny to fight each other. After a quick exhibition against RAX, fighters either visited their new living quarters or ventured to The Battle Room, the source of all their training and final battles on the Day of Determination. The centre of the building houses a large chamber with a massive screen on the wall. From here, The Eternal Champion was able to watch over time and select the nine best warriors history has ever produced. Somehow, The Overlord was unable to infiltrate Fortress Eternity and completely enslave humanity. From inside, the nine warriors trained for their final mission, occasionally leaving the building on other quests, such as one to free people from The Dream Bank. They were finally deemed ready and sent to 1994 Tokyo to stop Nakano developing the Bio-Key. When plans began to fail, Larcen Tyler suggested they return to Fortress Eternity to regroup but instead visited The Cyberdome. After the mission, all nine briefly came back to the fortress, although all but Shadow Yamoto were sent back to their own times to await future tasks.
