Sith Tal treats them so the pair might live longer than the anticipated 80-100 years.

lives in Sydney Australia,after he is transported to the land of the spell binders,he is trapped there for many days possibly more then a couple of weeks,and his friends back in Sydney discover that he isn't just missing but is likely in a parallel dimension/world,which they later confirm though know one else initially believes them including Paul's father who with everyone else believes Paul simply got lost in the bush and is missing in the mountains/Forrest areas where there school field trip took place,The land of the spellbinders is from a distant time line by Paul's world standards,and they have no electricity in houses/villages,no motor vehicles,no power lines,and very little technology,it is uncovered later on by Paul his friend from the spellbinder world who first meets him when he arrives Rhianna,and one of the regent spellbinders named Kyrion who is one of the head spellbinder officers/regents/leaders as well as one of Paul's loyal friends later on who tries to help and assist Paul to return him to his own world,as the series progresses-that long ago before an event they refer to as the darkness,there world was somewhat more technologically advanced and more modern though still nowhere near Paul's worlds standards,however in the spellbinder land there are a ruling class called the spellbinders and they do possess some technology that while not necessarily superior is different and unlike anything seen in Paul's world despite there being far more advanced and technological in general.the spellbinders have technology known as flying ships, a form of literal flying ship that isn't powered by fuel however,but by electromagnetism/other means,the spell binders who are a rare class and very selective perhaps numbering no more then a dozen also have what is called a power suit,this suit is not just a symbol of power but also one of the worlds most technologically advanced materials that they possess after the darkness from decades before,as such the power suits are very rare,and very valuable as well as symbolizing the spellbinders ruling class/superiority/dominance/and power as the official leaders of there known world,the power suit which the spellbinders alone possess are capable of literally shooting bolts of electricity,usually for defensive purposes and as a sort of projectile,as well as being necessary to run the flying ships they also possess,this is done by rubbing the wrists section of the power suits mechanism together which creates and activated a electrical charge that can then be used to either power the ship and make it fly,or to use for defensive/offensive purposes if a battle is necessary or they are under or attack,or are the ones attacking themselves.while the power suits are fairly sophisticated and advanced as well as very unique even when compared to technology and devices in Pauls world,the knowledge to build and improve much of there remaining technology including the few remaining flying ships/power suits/and there main centers of operations located in the spell binder main castle-the information on what makes these things operate and how to advance them was unfortunately lost during the long period of darkness which not only seemed to kill and setback the progress of much of there civilization,but also directly effected and reduced the numbers of the spellbinders and there resources/technological advancements/knowledge as well,as such protecting there remaining technology and preserving it is of vital importance.while the spell binders can be harsh and officially are more of a dictator/totalitarian type of government/leadership,they aren't necessarily cruel for no reason and generally respect and assist there civilian populations assets/various villages and towns/way of life,as well as provide them with protection from various dangers domestic or abroad.the exception would be one of the spellbinders regents a woman named Ashka,who has blatant and serious ambitions of dominance and control,and wants only to increase her position and power base for herself,throughout the series she is willing to do this at almost any and everyone else expense including her own fellow spellbinders and higher ranking regents,despite maintaining a facade of being respectful and following there orders and rules of conduct.Ashka is the main antagonist to Paul Reynolds and eventually to both the entire spellbinder world,as well as the earth/world where Paul is from in and near Sydney Australia,Paul initially faces several conflicts with both the people of the spellbinder world as well as the spellbinders themselves who believe he is from a parallel world but are unsure of his intentions,and because of manipulation through the actions of Ashka which sets the tone for the other head regents to initially not trust and be suspicious of Paul,Askha wants to use Paul to make Gun Powder which she learns about unintentionally by Paul through him and she then attempts to gain the information about how to make it for destructive purposes at first by pretending to be an ally and kind to Paul,but later on through deceptive,even violent means,including holding him as a hostage until he makes her gun powder,which he is reluctant to do sensing her less then noble ambitions and dishonest mentality/mindsets.

Sith Tal agrees. Soon, Lola and Paul are helping with the ship's operations. Paul has figured out the ship runs on a warp-drive, giving it the ability to move at faster than light. Over the months and years, the pair resign themselves to their fate, assisting Sith Tal in the collection of specimens. Once they've earned the alien's trust, Paul and Lola begin plans for escaping. Lola ferrets away canned food, while Paul studies the maps and "film-books". They both long to return to Earth. Taking the knowledge learned by Paul and the food stored away by Lola, they escape in the ship's "Space Life-Boat", a smaller spaceship. They return to Earth, but it's the year 9783. A scientist of Earth's future sends out gigantic robots that quickly capture Lola and Paul. They are soon put on exhibit as specimens for the zoo run for the pleasure of "Futuristic Earth People".
