  • The JTK1 was the initial model in the Jet King series, which were an homage to the "pawnshop" copy guitars from the 1960s (the type which Ibanez, among others, sold). The JTK1 has a body shape which is vaguely similar to the AX series or Gibson SG shape, but with asymmetric rounded "horns". It resembles a Teisco MJ-2 or a FujiGen-built EJ-2. Production of the JTK1 was in Korea in 2003 and 2004 before moving to Indonesia for 2005. Also in 2005 the one-piece neck with replaced by a three-piece neck. The JTK1 was discontinued after 2005.

abstract
  • The JTK1 was the initial model in the Jet King series, which were an homage to the "pawnshop" copy guitars from the 1960s (the type which Ibanez, among others, sold). The JTK1 has a body shape which is vaguely similar to the AX series or Gibson SG shape, but with asymmetric rounded "horns". It resembles a Teisco MJ-2 or a FujiGen-built EJ-2. The JTK1 features a basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with unique offset bar inlays. Components include dual Ibanez Super 58 humbucking pickups and the Full Tune III fixed bridge with ornamental tailpiece. A unique feature of the JTK1 are the two extra rocker switches for coil splitting. Similar switches were also used on the sixties "pawnshop" guitars, but were most often on-off switches for the pickups instead. Production of the JTK1 was in Korea in 2003 and 2004 before moving to Indonesia for 2005. Also in 2005 the one-piece neck with replaced by a three-piece neck. The JTK1 is the sole Jet King with this body shape. In 2004 a second Jet King model, the JTK2 was released with a new, more asymmetric body shape with a longer upper horn. This second iteration of the Jet King shape was used for all future models in the series. The JTK1 was discontinued after 2005.
