  • The Festival of Tsuruchi was an archery tournament held at the Gyousha province, in the Kakita provinces. Not yet named It began in 1200, during the Twenty Festivals. This first contest was won by Tsuruchi Taito, and the runner-up Daidoji Kinto motioned for the archery tournament to be held yearly, and renamed ‘The Festival of Tsuruchi.’ The Tsuruchi were extended a permanent invitation.
