Founded sometime after the 17th century, it is located in rural Alabama on a lush, elegant expanse of fertile soyland bordering its own private lagoon. Locally famous for their "fresh snatched clams", Camp Cosby has been brewing and potting its own distinctive brand of clam chowder since its inception. Holding true to the original recipe, their clam chowder still contains traces of reindeer blood, which was originally rumored to serve as a natural diaretic.

Founded sometime after the 17th century, it is located in rural Alabama on a lush, elegant expanse of fertile soyland bordering its own private lagoon. At Camp Cosby you can experience one of southern camping's widest ranges of activities available to qualifying tweens. Some of the most popular activities are: skiing, the "blob", clam snatchin', "medieval" basketweaving, marco polo, fencing, buildin' fences, native american "hop scotch", and the most popular being "acorn tree ball now". There are many longstanding traditions, including "Where's my morning coke?", "Somersaultin' Summer Sausage Saturdays", and of course, the original Camp Cosby Cheer: Locally famous for their "fresh snatched clams", Camp Cosby has been brewing and potting its own distinctive brand of clam chowder since its inception. Holding true to the original recipe, their clam chowder still contains traces of reindeer blood, which was originally rumored to serve as a natural diaretic. Camp Cosby has touched so many people in so many ways that Cosby Alumni have upheld the sacred custom of emerging from the forest and gathering at the edge of the lake before sunrise on June 1st, every summer, in order to holler their beloved Cosby Cheer, which signals the beginning of another wonderful summer!
