As an adult, Ichaso became a filmmaker, with his first work being the indie Spanish-language film El Super, which was released in 1979. This was followed by another feature film six years later, Crossover Dreams. Since then, Ichaso has worked on episodes for several TV shows, as well as a number of made-for-TV films.
