| HistoryText | - Professor Bottomley and Professor Peanut were two brilliant scientists who competed endlessly over their inventions until the day they both tried to register a patent on an 'Atom Distiller'. Each insisting that the other had stolen his design, the enraged inventors decided to duel to the death, and repeatedly attempted to do so, first with swords, then with pistols and finally with a host of their own lethal inventions until Marvelman convinced them that it would be more satisfying to duel with their minds and try to out-invent each other. Bottomley and Peanut achieved a grudging peace and mutual respect.
