| abstract | - The Earth Wife's imp is a girl who lives in the Mother Ragga's lodge. We encounter her first in Peshtar, where she experiments with binding magic on Jame with a cat's cradle of string, which stops breathing. Jame works out how to free herself of it, and shows the girl. She gives Jame the imu medallion she carries with her throughout Dark of the Moon. She is clearly an important part of the Merikit religion mythos, because when various members of the Caineron family take on roles of the Four, Lyra becomes the Earth Wife's imp, giving her the imu again, which Jame had thought destroyed in the Heart of the Woods at the end of Dark of the Moon.
