  • Geoff Weir is a former English cricketer who played in 2 Tests from 1956 to 1957. In 1954, Geoff Weir rose to prominence as a sharp right hand fast medium bowler with a reputation for short, sharp and destructive spells. Weir's athleticism was renowned and he one entertained a full house at Headingley with a lunch break display of fielding excellence. Sadly, at the peak of his prowess, Weir succumbed to the chronic gout complaint which had plagued him throughout his first class career. Weir later returned to the game in a lesser form as captain of Alwoodley CC 2nd XI.
