Ryan: “Fairly well.” Ryan: “Except for that, I guess.” Anthony: How did you do that? Ryan: “Just an incident at the Pokeball Factory. Noting too bad, I was just helping protect the factory from Pokeball thieves.” Anthony: Who were the thieves? Ryan: “A couple of thugs calling themselves ‘Team Rocket’.” Ryan: “My Quilladin and I fell from a high place, and a combination of Quilladin’s mass and the fall broke my leg.” Anthony: That sucks. At least you show you like your Quilladin a lot. I’ve just beat the gym here. How are you doing? Ryan: “I beat Lumiose Gym, and got the Voltage Badge.” Ryan: “And before that, I beat Korrina. Wait, hold on…” Ryan: “Yeah, I did.” Anthony: So, I’m ahead of you still by one. Ryan (Joking back): “Careful,I could end up breaking your leg if you give me any more lip.” Quilladin (To Ryan): “Quill.” Ryan: “You can let her out if you like.” Delphox: “Phox!” Nurse Joy: “Delphox has made a full recovery. Unfortunately, Ryan, your leg is going to take a little longer.” Ryan: “That’s alright.” Ryan: “I may be a gimp right now, but I seem to recall we promised each other a battle next time we met. Good leg or bad, I intend to keep that promise.” Ryan: “I’ve decided that this battle is more for ‘fun’. As in, there aren’t really any rules, and both of us can ‘tag-team’ our Pokemon if we wish.” Anthony: You mean a double battle? I don’t mind. Just don’t want you straining yourself. I only have three Pokemon with me. Ryan: “Oh, no. I guess what I meant was, we can switch Pokemon whenever we want.” Anthony: So a normal battle then. So, why not start with a new Pokemon. Go Staravia! Ryan: “Okay, Delphox, let’s start this off flamin’ hot!” Delphox: “Phox!” Ryan: “Scratch!” Anthony: You need to try harder than that. Aerial Ace! Staravia heads towards Delphox using Aerial Ace with amazing speed. Ryan: “Hyper Beam!” Anthony: Strong Hyper Beam. Now Toxic! Anthony: Now, Aerial Ace! Ryan: “Psybeam!” Ryan: “That was odd. Now, Secret Weapon'!” Anthony: Right, time for a barrage of moves. Echoed Ace! Ryan: “Another Secret Weapon!” Anthony: Now, use Aerial Ace! Ryan: “You’re not battling anymore.” Ryan: “Supersonic!” Ryan: “String Shot Staravia’s wings!” Anthony: Staravia return, you have done well. Ryan: “Supersonic!” Ryan: “Now, Poison Powder!” Anthony: I guess you haven’t heard of Guts then Ryan. Ryan: “So, if I’m right, it’s a healing move or something, and Taillow’s no longer poisoned….maybe.” Anthony: No. Guts increases the Pokemon’s attack by 1.5 times when a status condition is inflicted. Now, Brave Bird! Ryan: “Vivillon, I’m going to ask you to come back. Don’t have to go in your Pokeball, but Taillow’s more or less gonna slaughter you.” Ryan: “Water Pledge!” Anthony: Taillow return for now. Pokedex: “Xatu, the Psychic/Flying Type Mystic Pokemon, and the evolved form of Natu. Xatu can see both the past and the future at the same time. Once a Xatu begins meditation at sunrise, the entire day will pass before he-or-she moves again.” Ryan: “Wow, pretty interesting. This will certainly be a challenge. Hmm…” Ryan: “Wow, this is a challenge. Okay, I’ll try…Pound!” Ryan: “Ugh, of course that wouldn’t work.” Anthony: Now, Dazzling Gleam! Ryan: “Good thinking Froakie! Now, Smack Down!” Anthony: Use Psychic! While Xatu was dazed, Froakie sends three pillars of water in the Pokemon’s direction. Xatu dodges. Anthony: Now, use Ominous Wind! Ryan (thinking): ‘Ugh, this is impossible. Xatu can see what attack Froakie uses before I even ask him to use it! Ryan (Thinking): “Wait, I know what might give me an edge!” Ryan: “Supersonic!” Ryan: “Yes! My idea worked! Now, String Shot!” Ryan: “Whew. I guess Xatu can’t attack now.” Anthony: Xatu can still get out. But I want to see what you can do! Come at us with everything you have Ryan! Ryan: “Well, unfortunately for you Anthony, you took out ‘everything I have’ in the first round, so you won’t be getting that.” Anthony: Well, if you won’t attack we will. Ominous Wind! Ryan: “Razor L-!” Ryan: “Dang, my leg.” Ryan (to Anthony): “Like I said, I’m waiting to battle you properly. My leg’s too distracting for me in this state.” Anthony: We’ll wait till you are fully able to battle. Ryan: “Hope she’ll let me have a chair.” Narrator: After having a serious injury Ryan met up with Anthony and a battled ensued. However, the battle had to be called off as Ryan put pressure on his leg. Now, Ryan and Anthony are travelling together, and Ryan’s next gym battle draws nearer.
