Trent's teams struggled in his first eight years at Schenley, but he guided the Spartans to the playoffs 13 times in the past 17 seasons. "This is nothing that just sprung up all of a sudden. I was pretty sure this was going to be my last season," said Trent, who had a 122-123 record in. "I have a 4-year-old daughter and I want to make sure I spend a lot of quality time with her." Trent also will retire as a physical education teacher at Schenley and as an assistant boys' basketball coach.
