  • Time for Timer
rdfs:comment
  • The Time for Timer segments were much in the vein of ABC's other public service announcements on childhood health, including but not limited to The Bod Squad. In "Petarded", a gag features Timer reprising a segment called "Hanker for a Hunk of Cheese", wherein Timer performs and dances around his apartment, until he is interrupted by a knock on the door. Peter Griffin, clad in a bathrobe, expresses his annoyance at Timer's behavior and tells him that it is 3:30 a.m., to which Timer replies cheerfully, "I just smoked a whole bunch of crack!".

Peter Griffin, clad in a bathrobe, expresses his annoyance at Timer's behavior and tells him that it is 3:30 a.m., to which Timer replies cheerfully, "I just smoked a whole bunch of crack!". Timer's voice was originally recorded for Family Guy by original actor, Lennie Weinrib. Creator Seth MacFarlane, on the Season 4 DVD commentary, explained he wanted to hire Weinrib to voice Timer for the gag, but Weinrib was suffering from failing health when "Petarded" was being produced, and as MacFarlane explained, he "didn't remember doing it" after the recorded audio was played back for him later. In the end, Timer was voiced by Seth himself and Weinrib died about a year after "Petarded" first aired.
