  • The 2008 Aaron's 312 was a Nationwide Series event held at Talladega Superspeedway on April 26, 2008. Tony Stewart won from the pole, holding off a last-lap charge from Dale Earnhardt, Jr. David Stremme went past Junior for second, Bobby Hamilton, Jr. was third, Jason Leffler was fourth, and Mark Green surprised in fifth. All were good runs for those drivers, who survived the big wreck on lap 71, when Kevin Lepage improperly exited pit lane and caused a massive pileup. Also of note was Dario Franchitti, who fractured his ankle following a lap 10 crash with Larry Gunselman. Clint Bowyer crashed during the race as well, but finished in 25th to protect his 27-point championship lead on Carl Edwards (31st). Stats
