abstract
  • The Emperor's Fortress, also known as the Emperor's space station, was an ancient space station built for the Emperor of the reconstituted Sith Empire. A fusion of modern and ancient technology, the station served as both temple and fortress for the supreme ruler of the Empire. The station possessed a cloaking device of Gree design, and the station's security grid and power core utilized technology built by the ancient Rakata. During the Great Galactic War with the Galactic Republic, an Imperial scientist became the only non-Sith to ever board the station when he performed an overhaul of the security systems, and his shuttle Deference contained a complete set of schematics for the fortress. A Jedi strike team under the command of Jedi Master Tol Braga boarded the station in order to capture the Emperor, but were turned to the dark side and made into his servants. The Hero of Tython later escaped several months later, and after the death of the Emperor the rogue Sith Lord Darth Malgus claimed the station as his own and took it to Ilum. The space station was at the center of the final stage of the Battle of Ilum. Modifications by the Anomid Schism Collective allowed the station to host an armada of stealth fighters and utilize flux cannons. It engaged elements of both the Republic and Imperial fleets in battle. When confronted by the strike team sent to defeat him, Malgus triggered the space station's self-destruct mechanism, and the station was destroyed shortly following his death.
